Took some random online quiz to see what rank I'd likely achieve if I participated in WWII. Results were: 47% of making General, 29% for Master Sergeant, 14% Captain, 10% Private.
Notably, only one question asked of leadership skills. I picked I had poor leadership skills. Here's a link to the quiz, if interested.

I took the quiz. Picking the worst answers I could (when I could. The questions were terrible and many of them didn't have a negative answer possible) and ended up as a private.

The "How do you stack up?" percentages appear to be the spread of people that take the test, not you specifically. Since my percentages were the same as yours.

You got that the wrong way around. 47% is the score required to get general. Note that you have a higher "percentage" to get things which are more difficult. You missed the bit on the left stating which rank you actually qualified for, and that ranks score would be highlighted in green.

It's also important to note that intelligence/competence does not necessarily increase through the higher ranks, as any soldier will tell you.
