Apparently they are making a TV series based on the (excellent) Comic book "The Boys".  In the comic book, the main character Wee Hughie is 100% based on Simon Pegg.

Bloody hell that makes like the goddamn sixth title I've encountered called "the boys". There's other words in the english language y'buggers!

It was pretty disturbing/bleak. Knowing that it's based on a true story is a tad spoilery, haha. Not sure why I stopped watching it, maybe how depressing it was...

Honestly, this is my favorite thing about humans: we're crazy enough to be bored of a universe where diamonds fall sideways in hypersonic rain through methane skies lit by nebulae of raspberry rum and Saturn's got giant hexagons on its poles and gravity slows down time and a million other things utterly alien to everything we've ever seen rather than walk around permanently shocked at everything, and yet we're smart enough to build global communications networks to tell each other how bored we are at the speed of light. We've invented a system of mathematics that can do everything from telling you how many apples you're holding to describing what happens when the universe recurs and yet we skip out on learning it to go smoke behind the bleachers and laugh about it later and we're okay with that. We can dance while slowly rusting to death.

If we ever do build the Enterprise, we'll cover the hull in ads for drugs and VR porn, name the shuttlecraft Shuttley McShuttleface, and ferment six kinds of illicit booze in Engineering in between building a tiny jetpack for the ship's cat and jailbreaking the computer. And we'll still save the world with it. That's just how humanity rolls, man.

If we can set our aerodynamic tiddies aside for a moment, I've got a gaming WTF. RDR2 again. The only other thing I've been playing lately is Hellsign, and that whole damn game is a WTF...

So I picked up a bounty for the leader of the Lemoyne raiders, dead or alive. I wanted to bring him in alive, because apparently you can get to watch him get publicly charged and then hanged, and that seemed like my kind of cozy weekday night entertainment.

Heading out to his last reported location, I discover that it's a rundown civil war fort. Well, they're nothing if not loyal to their theme...

So I tried to head in all sneaky-like, but the moment you set foot inside the fort, Arthur yells out about having a warrant for the dude's arrest, and everyone mobilizes for battlestations.

I immediately duck into cover around the barracks, and I can tell that although they know I'm here, they don't know *exactly* where I am... So they're just firing random shots to intimidate me. I try to use this to my advantage and hunker down, trying to work out my battle plan for doing this as cleanly as possible.

I notice that a couple red dots are running around the perimeter of the wall, as a couple raiders popped out to try and flank my position, whatever position that might be... But then I hear an "Oh God, no!" and one of the dots turns into a corpse. I'm a little uncertain what just happened, but I think the doofus managed to hurl himself over the side of the parapet in his excitement.

Shortly thereafter, a couple more people turn up dead. I'm still sitting behind a shack wondering what the hell is going on, when suddenly I'm treated to a short cutscene and a change of objective to "Pick up [raider leader]'s body".

Whuh-huh? Looks like he got shot. By one of his own men. In a firefight I wasn't even fucking involved in. Right after he shouted encouragement at his troops to not let me get him.


I reloaded a save from outside the fort. Then I went in guns blazing in order to save his life from his own idiot soldiers.

Never did get to see that hanging though... I ended up being fairly busy that night.
