Those folks are nice. I definitely don't think about keeping gravel in my pockets so I can flick a pebble into their windshield when they drive past at night.

Both clocks near the nurse's desk are synchronized to the second exactly.

One is a wind-up clock.  The other is a cheap battery operated analog one.  I am hearing them tick in synchronicity. From opposite ends of the room.

No.  I know that windup clocks placed near each other will influence each other, and eventually end up in sync, but the sound intensity at that distance is insufficient for that effect to occur.  They are on different walls, with a large (more than 5 meters) air gap between them.

This was pure coincidence.
