I just read his thread, and if you are sitting your armchair with your pipe, reading the news of the riots over the top of your glasses I can’t construct better images of bourgeoisie when I was meant to be asleep hours ago instead of outside protesting the price of a tank of diesel with your other cheese-eating surrender monkeys sorry I like that turn of phrase it’s really stupid then... uh... I can’t remember what the point was now.

Is it a Harvestman (which isn't actually a spider, it is an arachnid though) or some large(ish) Australian spider? Doesn't matter much when the question is dinner but does if the question becomes "is it dangerous?".

There is the 6-legged flying critter known as the daddy-long-legs and the Harvestman is sometimes called that too. When it comes to dropping from the ceiling and landing usually that would be the Harvestman and not the flight capable insect.
