Jordan Peterson.
What is it with him lately? Every time I'm on YouTube these days, there's half a dozen recommended videos about him "obliterating" or "completely destroying" some feminist or ideology or something. I'm not sure if I'm on YouTube or a more conventional porn site anymore.
Remember back when Bay12 was more politically heated and Relya would cite certain allegedly centrist speakers to back up her/his at-the-time controversial points? He’s basically the new Milo, but not accused of being a pedophile yet.
Actually no, I got to give Jordan a little more credit than that. He was a renowned Harvard professor before moving to teach in the University of Toronto where he still teaches students to this day. Occasionally on the side he will make a presentation about a certain topic and share his non-leftist views with the professionalism and clarity expected from a professor. People who don’t agree with leftist ideology see him as charming voice who speaks for them. Critics see him as dangerous person who gives troubling opinions legitimacy.
I’ve only ever seen him talk twice. One was a presentation on post-modernism and how it’s just a plot to reintroduce Marxism. It your a person who hates post-modernism you would find it pretty compelling but there was something off about it. Like certain truths were being
subtly twisted just to support his view. I cringed when he talked about the Holodymor (drastically oversimplified it) and during his Q&A where he dodged a question and goes into a non-sequitir about the singularity.
Second time I heard him talk was a clip from an interview where he talks about how the American military can’t find a use for people with an IQ under 70. He mentions how the military is always desperate for men and so the fact that they can’t find a use for them is very troubling. Basically, he implies that people with an IQ under 70 are useless.
Honestly, you should listen to him yourself. If you want know the enemy (if you can even call it that), you’ll find it interesting just how compelling he is to listen to. Probably not something YouTube recommends, but his lectures are a sight to marvel at. They’re long though, so you should probably download and listen to them in your car. I should also mention that his primary field of study is psychology so make of his political opinions what you will.
