Sounds like you're pinning all the characteristics of a class you don't like on one random individual. Maybe he was just having a horrible day and ended up feeling awful about it. Maybe he grew up in and still lives in poverty, relative or abject.

Don't judge someone based on fifteen seconds of mostly non-verbal communication. It's a terrible thing to do, deciding that since they look like a group you hate they must be evil.

I’d be tempted to say we’re worse. While enlightenment is just an exponential trend over time, barring some barbarian invasion scenario- the Internet has made knowledge into the most available and polluted form it’s ever been. We can’t even nail down science anymore because every reader is a cynic and every writer has an agenda and YouTube is just So Easy and So Very Innacurate and conformation bias is just the shape of the world now.

And yet if you were not born a boomer, you will never age to become one. Ageism is self-defeating only from a static reference frame. People can and do complain about other generations for their entire lifetimes.

People will always gripe. There's a difference between grumbling that all the local bankers are Jews and saying "we're gonna kill all the Jews." One is grumbling; the other is hatred, even extremism.

The old have more money, and had better chances in life. We can grumble about that all day long. But "they're all the same and entirely replaceable" is taking it a step further and into illogical ageism.

To me it seems you're overreacting to that guy's own overreaction. He didn't know your circumstances, or you his. Fantasizing about comebacks is not going to help you. For that matter, comebacks won't help you either. In my experience it's far better to be cool than to respond in righteous anger at offences. No matter how right you think you are.

Or loosen the trap, extricate their limb, bind and treat the wound, use a stick or branch as a crutch, and limp back to their social unit to report the trap and get further assistance.
