Perhaps this is the mystical time where lewd and edge combine to create some new, darker creation.

Wow. I never get philosophical dreams like that and instead I get random bullshit that has literally no relation to anything that happened that day. I would also never get political dreams, because I am rather conformist politically (I'm the one who vandalizes Communist Party posters with scissors).

Good job. Some based individual often tears down the Socialist Party posters that go up all over my suburb, but these gronks just put up more and more. Tempting to fire up the ol' GIMP and make a few edits, stick some additions on the existing posters and see how long it takes anyone to notice. :P

I can't recall any dreams from last night, though I didn't get much sleep (forgot to un-set my alarm) so it isn't surprising.

I was tearing them off, but they started attaching the posters to walls with Scotch (transparent duct tape, the stuff is really hard to tear apart). So I started using scissors to cut through the Scotch.

Not a fan of the socialist party eh?
That’s probably smart. We so far are unaware of a socialist country which doesn’t kill its citizens.

Communist, not Socialist. And I'm not opposed to them because they would be authoritarian, but because I just don't like communism in general.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Always found something a little unpleasant about people tearing down political posters out of mere disagreement. I'm not sure if it's because it involves the assumption that only voices they approve of should be heard, or because it suggests they don't really have confidence in their own PoV.

I mean, it's seldom hard to make a fricking Tankie look like an idiot from pretty much any other part of the political spectrum.

I have always been partial to vandalism of political posters, by perverting the message they present.

Say for instance, with post-it word bubbles.

Got an alarmingly cherry picked set of statements presented with a cherry picked, healthy and happy looking model, like a DPRK propaganda piece?  Don't tear up the poster-- No-- Don't even change the bold-faced type with the "intended" message from the propagandist behind it-- No no no--- Just put a few well placed word bubbles over the head of the model, with very witty and rhetorical remarks about the nature of the propaganda they have been made a part of.

Then tape the post-it down with heavy scotch shipping tape, so it cant be removed. :P

You know, something like this:

Well, I think it kind of depends... I don't really want to live in an area with "Nigger crossing: Speed limit 120" and "Send them back where they came from!" stickers decorating the walls and signposts. They're not exactly posters, but they're rather political.

The Trump 2020 sticker I just kinda left alone because of the absurdity of seeing one in Norway... It's since been keyed and scraped, but I don't feel any great loss now that it's ruined.

Both of those could be GLORIOUSLY vandalized in a similar manner!

"nigger" is indeed a vulgar racist slur, but it *ALSO* means "crude, contemptible, and slovenly person". (see definition 2.) So, put a photocopy of that definition with an asterisk near it, put a similar asterisk near the word "nigger" in the poster, then put caricatures of racists getting run over in the road.

Now, I know you are far more clever than you let on Kagus, so I am certain that you can do something similarly rhetorically witty to the second example. (I have several ideas of my own, but come now- this is so easy it hurts.)

President Donald Trump didn’t know that Nepal and Bhutan were countries until an adviser told him, according to a new report from Politico.

“He didn’t know what those were. He thought it was all part of India,” said one person familiar with the meeting. “He was like, ‘What is this stuff in between and these other countries?'”

According to the Politico report, Trump mispronounced Nepal as “nipple” and Bhutan as “button.” He also suggested that he could set up Modi with someone, after learning Modi is estranged from his wife.

I don't know which is worse, the nations of Button and Nipple or trying to set up president Modi of India with someone.

BTW, what reminded me of this was wierd's post. Steven Colbert joked that we should hope that Trump never needs to pronounce the name of African nation Niger.

I am just waiting for him to suggest that starving french people eat cake at this point.  Honestly.
