I think Canada is the most Nordic country in the world. They all are polite, speak French, and utterly rekt the fuck out of everyone they fought in WWII. Isn't that like, the most Nordic thing ever?

Also wow. Finland really went a different way linguistically. "Heim hjem hem ya know?"
"Oh yes, koti."
"Wait what dafuq d'joo say?!"

I dislike that for Language and Weak they chose words that are different from the Icelandic ones rather than their homonyms, which are still in use. "Tungomål" and "vek" are how they are said in Swedish. It's like they deliberately chose the more different synonyms to make it seem less similar.

Also the most like ancient norse language is the language of the Elf Valley in Sweden, by the way. Well, if I recall correctly, that is.

Isn't koti rooted in the old word for a fur tent? Also, here's how to say "fuck" in various nordic languages:

Swedish: Fan
Norwegian: Faen
Danish: Fanden
Icelandic: Fjandinn
...
Finnish: Perkele

There's also Faroese, which is its own distinct language and is spoken by at least five people. Like the relationship between Norwegian and Danish, the Faroese and Icelandic languages are very similar in their written components but are quite different in their pronunciations.

Also I'm pretty sure that what they say is the Finnish word for cat, kissa, is very likely derived from the colloquial Swedish word "kisse", and they probably have some other word for cats that is proper Finnish rooted.

I mean, it's also possible it's the other way around, but I reject that reality.

"Koshka/кошка" is Russian for "cat (generic or female, depending on context)", "kot/кот" is "male cat". "Kisa/киса" is a shortened diminutive of "koshka". Could that be related to the finnish "kissa"?

"Snow leopard" = "snezhny bars/снежный барс". "Lynx" = "rys'/рысь".

The "y" in "rys'" is pronounced like the "e" in "roses".

"Kowka" is not a proper romanization... that would be "ковка", which means "smithing".

Laughs in siberian

I don't see how a roman language can be nordic.

That was the semi-joke I was making.

"Snow leopard" = "snezhny bars/снежный барс".
... sneezy bars? Do snow leopards regularly get the sniffles or something...?

Well, yeah... They're out in the snow without earmuffs, like, all the time. They're bound to catch colds.

That actually means "snowy".

Dark Souls: Prepare to Die Edition seems to not recognize DSfix and Input Customizer for reasons beyond my imagination. Without these programs working, the game is a miserable experience, and I have also forgot how to play using a controller.
