Power metal always being pompous and silly and ultra-upbeat is a misconception made from the more pop-structured and chorus driven mainstream bands, like Dragonforce. It's a really common trend amongst more mainstream bands tend not to put effort into their lyrics and to make them cringeworthily cheesy. It's not an inherent part of the genre, it's just really bad writing.

You can kind of see the evolution into this style from looking at popular power metal bands from the 80s, 90s and then finally the early 2000s. What started as long fantasy story songs and albums turned into more contained songs about singular battles with catchy choruses, and then eventually ultra-cheesy modern stuff which caught on with mainstream audiences.

People tend to split the genre into "Power Metal" and "Flower Metal" for this reason, but I think that's sillier than power metal lyrics.

AS PROFESSOR Rita Jitendra was being driven to the Good Morning J&K TV studio earlier this week, she told staff she hoped to one day die “while working”.

Employee Hafiza Muzaffar told the publication the academic had told a male official during the drive to the studio that morning she wanted a similar death to former president Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam, who died at 83 while delivering a lecture in 2015.

“She told him that Dr Kalam had died while working. That is how she met her end too. She breathed her last in the studio itself,” Ms Muzaffar said.
