I wish I could be playing children's games instead of having to go through a 600+ pages-long tome with poetic rather than descriptive chapter titles for the information I need.

I'm talking abou Johan Huizinga's The Autumn of the Middle Ages, by the way. And I am trying to find his elaboration on the statement that the fifteenth century was when the population was most conscious of the concept of death.

EDIT: And, just as I rant about it: I manage to find it. Truly, magic is real and it is fueled by mild annoyance.

The community is not so enjoyable to say the least. And the actual OK games are hard to find among the flood of "WHO MURDEREDD SPANGBAWB!?!?!?!?" and "HARDEST OBSTACL COUURSE!!!!!!". We had a thread a year or two ago, but it died within a few days.

Dwarf Fortress is the master race. There is no point in playing any other popular building game once you learned DF, at least in my opinion.
