It doesn't sound like he's being facetious in quite the manner you suggest.

The entire post suggests he's saying pedophilia is the action itself, which is an extremely common misconception. He was joking about an unrelated element. His entire post makes it clear he didn't see any distinction between pedophilia, the medical diagnosis, and child-abuse, the action.

That kind of knee-jerk reaction is actually harmful because it creates a stigma against non-active pedophiles from seeking therapy or talking about their situation. In a similar sense to how labeling all pot smokers as evil insane junkies doesn't really help deal with drug addiction.

That's... kind of the point. That is exactly the kind of facetious I was being; popular ignorance.

My experience on prision rape is american films. It isnt really heard of in our prisons.

That said, while I'm all in favor of population control, one-child policies have been proven to be an overly blunt instrument that leads to gendercide and other undesirable effects, particularly since the birth rate in several developed countries is actually already below replacement. Improved access to contraception, abortion and sterilization helps a lot.

The resource cost of shipping millions of people into space, much less another planet, is absurd though.  If we're going to solve overpopulation by crafting habitats for people, I think the next frontier is the oceans.  Then the arctic, then underwater, then underground, *then* space.
