I have reached the next stage of microwaved eggvolution. Today, the scrambled eggs were made with water instead of milk.

... they weren't as good, but they were still good enough.

In the future, perhaps it will be without water. Then... then, without eggs? Stick an empty bowl in the machine, receive spontaneously generated scrambled eggs. This is not our future, but perhaps in another world it could be reality...

Oh yeah, my dad showed me how it easy it is to make simple scrambled eggs in the microwave.  That was the only place I'd ever heard of it until now, which seems weird.

My housemate was trying to make coffee in the microwave the other day which did not work though.  I think the surface of the water was boiling without the rest of the water getting hot enough?  We could have found the perfect intensity setting I guess, but I just made some hot water in my tea kettle instead.
(I'm honestly not sure what happened at all.  We were distracted by guests, and at one point he claimed the coffee bag "exploded")

Enforced celibacy is rather bad, though. See for instance paedophile priests.
This prompted me to read the wikipedia article on proposed causes of clerical paedophilia.

Suprisingly, everyone seems to think the correlation goes the same way. I couldn't find many articles that even obliquely suggested that paedophiles might be attracted to careers in the clergy.

Gotta be really careful with what containers you use in a microwave. I don't think microwaves bounce off of water molecules when agitating them, but then again, I'm hardly a microwave technician. Or a radiophysicist. Or, really, erudite in any field at all. Probably shouldn't listen to anything I say, honestly...

Marshmallows are fun in the micro though, hehehe.

That's because paedophilia is a choice, not something a person intrinsically "is", everyone knows that!  You can't be born a paedophile, because nobody is one until they go and do something paedie. Quick mafs.

It's what happens when you use distilled water Rolan. It goes critical in that it's past it's boiling point but there's no impurities to kick of the reaction, the moment anything is introduced (such as a tea bag or a spoon) it all explosively boils (usually in your face and all over your hands). Nasty stuff to be sure, think Mythbusters did it in one of the older episodes too.

I tended to stick a bamboo sticker into water/liquid I was nuke boiling, iirc. Dunno how much it helped but I never had something explode on me so *shrugs*

I've had it happen once with milk, so it's definitely not just distilled water.

That's not correct, the terminology is that an pedophile is someone attracted to children. What they become when they act on the attraction is a child abuser. The distinction is exactly the same as the distinction between someone attracted to adult women and a rapist.

It's sort of a myth that there's no middle ground between not being attracted to children at all and being a full-blown kiddie rapist. There's very little data on the middle-ground, e.g. there doesn't seem to be any fundamental theory that would explain why being attracted to a different body shape would make one group any more likely to turn into a rapist than another group.

I'm reasonably certain that he was being facetious.

It doesn't sound like he's being facetious in quite the manner you suggest.

The entire post suggests he's saying pedophilia is the action itself, which is an extremely common misconception. He was joking about an unrelated element. His entire post makes it clear he didn't see any distinction between pedophilia, the medical diagnosis, and child-abuse, the action.

That kind of knee-jerk reaction is actually harmful because it creates a stigma against non-active pedophiles from seeking therapy or talking about their situation. In a similar sense to how labeling all pot smokers as evil insane junkies doesn't really help deal with drug addiction.

And yet, a Priest is more likely to be a paedophile/ child abuser than your average person, I believe? Close contact with children and enforced celibacy must be the cause - either that or their connection to God.

Actually it's perfectly possible that they're no more likely to be a pedophile (DSM definition) than anyone else, but they're more likely to be a child abuser - purely because of opportunity for that vs lack of opportunity to have sex with women. e.g. a regular straight male inducted into the clergy might be more attracted to boys than men, because boys are just less masculine. And you don't have access to anything else.

In same sense that there's a ton of gay prison sex but that doesn't mean they're actually gay.

The idea "i'm going to become a member of the clergy so i can assault children" doesn't actually make much sense. It would be an incredibly roundabout way to go about something you could do much more easily without all the bullshit, e.g. it would be like claiming that there's buttfucking in prison because gay men deliberately get sent to prison so they can have gay sex. Doesn't really make much sense.

I thought prison sex was a power thing. If you got it up the butt then you were beneath them. If you gave it up the butt you were above them.

It's actually overstated:
https://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/mar/17/consensual-and-coercive-sex-in-prison-exposed-by-howard-league-review
Quote
Study into English and Welsh jails by Howard League for Penal Reform finds rape to be rare but consensual sex and pornography widespread

It could be in some places but it's not a widespread tactic because even if you're on top, it's a pretty gay way to say you have power, so it's not really a widespread form of proving masculine cred. e.g. you have the gang guys, they're not going around saying how many guys they buttsexed as their proof of power.
