Withdrawal depends a fair bit on the person, with caffeine. Also how dependant you are on it, o'course. The headaches can be a complete bastard, too. Doesn't tend to last very long, though, fortunately.

Anyway, unless it's decaf tea switching over won't help much. Most caffeinated tea (which is most tea) has as much or more caffeine than your average cup of coffee, so if you're looking to break the addiction it's not an improvement (vis a vis the caffeine, anyway).

E: Though if you're looking for tips, what did it for me when I cut caffeine more or less entirely was to always have something else to drink in arms reach, so I never had thirst as an excuse to seek the drug. Just toted around a gallon jug of water, mostly.

It is by coffee alone I set my mind in motion.

Do you have a source for this on-hand? I've heard that statement bandied about a few times before, but never seen it backed up by anything more than hearsay. Mayo clinic also says that, on average (considering there is a great deal of difference in beans, roast, amount used, tea type etc.) a cup of Joe will contain significantly more caffeine than a similar amount of black tea.

I used to chew it in the military. Boredom does strange things to a man...

I've been sadly forbidden by medical professionals from snorting anything. Alas, I must content myself with just eating it because sometimes it takes too long to brew.

Somewhere in the future, it will be quite normal to go to a bar and order a 'cappucino, and a rectal bean injector for my buddy. Black, no sugar'

Since it's related, yesterday I bought some dark chocolate-covered coffee beans. Ate a dozen or two, then I looked up the caffeine content. Eep. One ounce of them has about two and a half times the caffeine of a cup of coffee. It is also a 12-ounce box. Just glad I didn't eat the whole box before looking it up. Not sure if the headaches I'm currently having are related to that, or the two hours of sleep I got.

Also, these things taste pretty terrible for the most part. The chocolate is good(chocolate is always good), but the coffee beans themselves aren't really enjoyable.

Were those from Trader Joe's by any chance? They changed the recipe years ago, and I haven't been impressed with the new one. Not least of which because they suddenly decided that whey powder was now an essential ingredient of dark chocolate.
