Tried to get Akinator to guess Tholtig Cryptbrain.

First it guessed Serana from Skyrim (?)

THEN it guessed Urist Borushdumat. (!!!)

Then it got Tholtig Cryptbrain after figuring out she was royalty.

It took a few tries but I successfully got it to guess Likot Soapeater. It guessed Obok Meatgod first but it can hardly be blamed for that.

The place I'm renting has a bit of a mouse problem. Previously, I'd only seen them in the kitchen, but now they're making incursions into my room. The landlord apparently got pest control to come in last month, but the traps they left have apparently been ineffective.

Well, that's not super difficult. Thought of Rhaknam, the giant whale from Skies of Arcadia. Akinator guessed the Moon Lord from Terraria, one of the Colossi from Shadow of the Colossus, and some jerk from Demon's Souls before giving up.

First try victory!

Closest I got to victory was the hunter from Bloodborne. Took him several guesses, but when he finally figured it out, it turns out that people have only ever asked him about it 112 times.

Are the traps properly positioned and loaded?

Rodents have terrible vision, and rely heavily on their sensory whiskers and sense of smell. This is why they run along walls and stay in enclosed spaces as much as possible.  To place traps effectively, place them about 3 inches just behind a corner, as they tend to 'dart' around corners quickly, and will thus run over the traps.

Be sure to wash or discard used traps, because "dead mouse" smell causes them to seek new migration lanes in your home.

Also, hungry bullsnake is more effective than cat.

They're supposed to be, and the pest guy was supposed to check up on them each month. Not sure if he's done that yet. I guess I'll bug my landlord about it and maybe set some traps myself.

I decided to go easy and chose Pug from Magician, and he guessed it. So that's neat.
Then I decided to go Fiddler from MBotF and not so much. Got it on the second attempt though.

His first guess was a Mistborn character too, so the fact he wouldn't get Rand Al'Thor is odd.

Edit: Alright, Marquis de sade has been guessed 2257 times.
Now I've gotta test the WoT.

Edit2: Yeah, Akinator got Rand on the second attempt. You must've given an answer wrong or something.

Edit3: Victory with Maeve from the Dresden Files. Not a first try and not a main character, but eh.

I got sucked into it earlier thanks to you guys, and managed to get a few victories. A couple I remember were Lord Sepulchrave from Titus Groan, Dutch Schultz (bizarrely) and Togura Poulaan from book two of the Chronicles of An Age of Darkness series.
