Went to the supermarket, fire alarm and everyone goes outside. False alarm too, which annoyed at least one staff member judging by her proclamation of disbelief (I think it was "Ah for fucks sake!"). Go back in and a few minutes later the alarm goes off again, no-one seemed to really care and it was another false alarm anyway. I then was talking with my mum about how I though it was a faulty alarm and as soon as I finished the word "alarm" it went off again for a couple of seconds.

God damn alarms going off when they shouldn't.

Could have been testing it, without informing anyone. That's happened where I work.

Would explain why it went off once but would not explain why it went off three times with the last being literally 1-2 seconds. Also the announcements were that they were false alarms as opposed to drills or tests.

I know you're just being silly here, but they do happen on the dayside, you just can't see them because the sunlight overwhelms the light from the auorae.
