Oh, I've had "mad scientist" around for almost 10 years, just not on here. :P

I needed to pull him out of the hat for one of the "your avatar vs xxx" threads in RP and games.

I drew him too. Also MS Paint.

Serious about the dunk-tank experiments though-- I really did get those results consistently. :P (only joking that he should attempt replication. One should only do this for cats that genuinely deserve it.)

So I’m currently trapped in the lobby of a hotel casino because none of the elevators work after a bogus fire alarm. Right as we checked in, too. Just my luck

Because of the bogus ‘fire alarm’ there were guards preventing people from going up. That and I think there was keycard issues keeping the doors locked as well
Anyway it took an hour for the incompetent management to fix the damn elevators

Sounds like a man afraid of stairs.

Yeah, he's a banned spammer. Normally we'd delete this thread too, but people were having too much fun with it by the time we got here.

Show a man the stairs, and he'll descend for a day. Push a man down the stairs, and he'll descend for the rest of his life.

That depends quite a lot on the stairs, really. Retrospect, now that I think about it it's pretty easy to catch fire and not die, too. The "because it kills then" is clearly implied, but it's not terribly assured... well, at least without a little extra help, heh.

snip
Wouldn't you know it, just in the last month or so I finally got around to setting up automatic payment for most of my grandparents' bills. Still a few to catch, but it was massively goddamn overdue. Kept forgetting to friggin' do it/finish convincing them to go through with it, and most of the relevant other people were being fucking useless and refusing to help with the process. It's only been like part of a full payment cycle since but it's already been a significant weight off the shoulders.

... incidentally, if you're dealing with an income stream sufficient to keep most, or at least the primary (water, electricity, property taxes, etc.), expenses paid, setting up autopay is really hella' useful if you or anyone else involved in your household has a shitty memory. Just in case citing some rando on the internet would help convince your fellow poor financial managers to start being less stupid.

I can't help but think it may have been a good idea to ban potatoes, too. You dun need a potato peeler to peel potatoes, and I can only imagine adding potato detritus to an already vaguely nightmarish post-performance cleanup could do the janitorial workers no favors. To say nothing about the whole spud throwing issue potentially causing murder or manslaughter. Potatoes can get decently weighty and people bits are soft and squishy in places...

A friend and I got into a silly mood and messed around (using find/replace in notepad) with the Star Trek TNG script "Deja Q" where Q becomes human.

We changed all the characters to various bandits and bandit-name derivatives from Skyrim, and the sets to various spots around a mundane bandit camp. Mentions of high technology have been replaced mostly with various horses and low-tech objects. This makes it a story about Bandit Wizard's asshole pranks and the attempt of a regular bandit camp to restore the moon's orbit around Nirn using nothing but farming equipment and whatever they can find in/near the loot chest.

Anyway I've been WTF'ing at this creation.

Watching some gameplay of... pokken tournament dx, apparently. Switch intermittently 3D fighting game. All I can think is that this is the most evil looking pikachu I've ever seen in official material. Little yellow shit looks like it's there specifically to beat the everloving hell out of anything that can't run away fast enough, and thoroughly enjoying every sadism infused minute of it. It's like the only two facial modes the bastard has is rape and murder.

Even what seems to be its friggin' idle animation is a sort of "hey, watch how violently I'm about to fuck this thing's face" sort of expression. Cheerful with a side of wink wink nudge nudge I bet this guy's spine would look great mounted on my wall.

It's somewhere between uncanny and unsettling, with a degree of impressiveness directed both to whoever animated the apparently homicidal vermin and whoever convinced the project leads to let them go ahead with prison escapee pikachu, late of death row for the mass murder of dozens of intelligent beings, presumably only mostly non-human.

Looked at Teneb's avatar and thought it was a guy with the moon for a head, giving an uppercut (complete with motion blur.)

i almost thought for a second about whining in the drunk thread but holy fuck that would be bad for my future mental health why did i even consider that

i'm not particularly looking to argue but i am willing to reply i'm not going to get the last word in this so i'll just say what my opinion is: if alcohol were exactly as stigmatized as tobacco is today (I.E. people will complain but not consider you a pariah if you partake regularly) i'd probably be happy, but until then it's an insanely bad problem that people keep enabling and it makes me super anxious when i think about

It was probably a good idea to abstain from posting that in the drunk thread :P
