I love how that ignores the more obvious problem, which is that phones are built to send out conversations to a network where a phone company can do whatever they want with them.  Like, where do you think you're going to say the really private stuff, when you're walking home alone from work, or when you're chatting up your boss/SO/parents/criminal conspirators over the phone?  But no, I'm sure some hacker wants to listen to you fart while your phone is in your back pocket.

There are solutions for that you know. There are encrypted messenger apps for both IOS and Android that allow you to send conversations to someone without the middleman being able to peer through.

The way they work is that the app encrypts your message, sends it to your friend, and then the software on your friend’s phone decrypts it. The middleman still sees it, but all they have is encrypted gibberish. It’s the receiver’s job to make it legible.

I can only imagine how difficult it is to build up your evil vengeance hunter rep when your name is very literally shit. Though I guess it's conceptually a decent opening gambit? Might get that opening extra moment of hesitation when you come flying out of the bushes screaming that poo comes for their head.

... any case, work itself is Upgrade Specialist in Another World.* I'm sure the name is something innocuous in the original language, but as the with myriad dongs of punch magic, it holds up somewhat poorly to a primarily english speaker.

* Which is a'ight as punch magic stories go, so far. MC is fairly murderous, but largely not a raging asshole about it and most of the rest innit particularly bad. Ranking it as number two or three of what I've read of the stuff over the last half year or so, I think. #1 is hands down World of Cultivation, at the moment (it's actually something approaching pretty good, imo), and I think there's a few other contenders for whatever's left of the top three. Library of Heaven's Path takes second, probably, now that I think about it a little has its rampant power fantasy issues but characterization and whatnot is fairly enjoyable...

... though, that said, it's not exactly a thing of amazing difficulty to stand out quality wise for this stuff. Most of what I've read since I started doing much of it a few years back has been like sub fanfiction averages in terms of construction.

Yes, but as I mentioned before, the only thing the middle man actually gets is encrypted gibberish. They do not have the key required to decrypt the message, only the receiver does. And before you ask, the receiver’s key is spontaneously generated by their own device. The app-maker never gets to see it.

Christmas and my birthday have both passed. Didnt get to see family much at all, in fact other than one trip to pick mom up from work i spent the entire time at home, pretty much alone, doing the chores and keeping the critters alive. Yesterday i handed out my gifts to my parents, not sure how im going to get things to my brother. I didnt get anything, though. Maybe they just forgot to get them from wherever theyre hidden... I coerced mom into making us cocoa and soup to have for lunch while we shoveled the driveway, which took six hours or some bullshit like that and i completely soaked two sets of jackets and pants because IT WAS FUCKING RAINING SLUSHY HORRIBLENESS ALL GOD DAMN DAY.

I made it into town with plenty of time and did the laundry, then i passed out immediately before i was supposed to be at work and was thirty minutes late because of my stupid fucking power nap. Work was shit from the get go too. The shopping cart i was supposed to use was covered in ice that melted into a huge ass puddle right in the middle of the isle so i lost time cleaning that up. Could barely stay awake either, feel sick, cant stop coughing, and nearly didnt make it to the restroom because ive been eating nothing but chili for days (being stuck home alone and lazy). Happiest fucking birthday to me.

So i just got off work and bought myself a fucking birthday cake and muffins. And dog food, because we were out of dog food.

I am so fucking tired right now but i have to drive home and feed those fucking dogs before they explode or something.

Baffles me is how bad a local culture could be that someone could muster up the...courage? to call the police, say all that rubbish that they said, and be okay with what they've said (seeing that the video linked, linked that guy, whose twitter was deactivated but he made a new account and hhhhhh). Perhaps it's the fact that we lack most of the services here meant for helping people like that 911 being taken for granted that drives me up the wall, but that is just disgusting to experience third-hand: seeing such a thing even be done, with the lack of thoughtfulness therein, or how the person's twitter initially being deactivated, him making a new one and still being a jerk (or being defensive and cussing out everyone else >_<).
...Because of a dumb game, with around a dollar and fifty cents (which is pretty much my daily expenses :v), physical threats, and abuse of emergency services occur?
  Pretty concerned about the lack of encouraging or support culture there.
But how the heck do you abuse an emergency service, alongside the trust in those services to paint and falsify a context, which turns everyone in response in red alert mode, and ugh words words words words.
