I know of the browser game Pandemic 2. And I know of Plague Inc: Evolved (but there is no luck involved in where you spawn in that)

Was the browser game, Pandemic.

Did just buy Plague Inc. though.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Context, dude was creeping out a number of female artists trough the sites messaging system, they reported him and he got banned. This was his reaction to that ban.

Plague was always airborne. In fact that's the deadliest, most severe form of the disease (pneumonic plague). So... nothing new, really.

I was expecting Artstation to be some new Space Station 13 fork, based on most of that image.

At the airport (fuck I'm probs gonna catch plague) drinking a coffee and there's this weird, circular curved screen suspended from the ceiling behind me displaying a variety of ads and information.
One or two of the ads are accompanied by seriously gross sound effects that I believe are supposed to sound like surf and somebody drinking coffee before sighing with pleasure, but it winds up sounding more like a horrific attack of diarrhoea. :S

Repeats every minute or so, too.

What does the word "welp" mean on the Internet? I keep reading it where I expect "well".

Welp is a more polite expression of "Well everything is currently fucked up but I am resigned to this state of being"

It's like 'well' (when used as an interjection) but it indicates a much stronger sense of resignment or "yeah I'm done with this". It's also strictly used at the beginning of the sentence.

For example:

"welp I failed that exam"
"welp everyone hates me now"
"welp now I have no future prospects of <insert thing(s) here>"
"welp I just messed everything up and now I'm fired/banned/some other severe penalty appropriate to the situation"

/philosophical introspection
I'm 31 and I've come so far and I'm still pondering the big questions, and sometimes I feel like I'm not closer to grokking the truth.  I've been exposed to so many useful ideas...  And I've demonstrably helped young family members with the resulting "wisdom", understanding and sharing trivia and other people's theories.

But definitive answers eternally elude me.  Instead, I find myself listening to younger, more self-assured people.  Most of it's hormonal garbage of course, but there's valuable insight too.  A surprising amount.

I remember a very brief time, towards the end of adolescence, when I felt I had total understanding.  It was like staring at the eclipse, and I very deliberately unremembered most of it to survive.  No exaggeration.  They were conclusions, perhaps faulty, that I couldn't live with.
*sips wine*

Edit:  This was triggered by pondering Law vs Chaos and Good vs Evil.  DND Alignment, AKA, the 2D US political spectrum.  Selfishness vs altruism (No really, is one better?) and more interestingly, establishment vs freedom.  Safety vs liberty.  Hmm.

I'm of the opinion that Truth has very little to do with Reality.

Truth is whatever Dear Leader says it is, or at least that's what mr.cheeto wants you to think as The Party cracks in half in a blaze of glorious impeaching light

Then your "truth" is meaningless? Truth is defined only by its similarity to reality.

The idea of Philosophical Zombies shows that people will gladly pursue Truth while ignoring all Reality. ;P
