The electric company decided to charge ahead for estimated usage, possibly because they refuse to actually read the meter, and put the bill over $500 from the previous bill. Now, that's pretty bullshit right there, but my stepdad's reaction is to threaten to just turn off power to the entire house, including important stuff like the refrigerator(leaving everything to rot). To say nothing of my stuff that needs to be powered.

Utility companies can be really bad about that. The only good thing is that they generally have to read the meter eventually, and when they do it results in all the excess that they charged you has to be repaid as bill credit. Still incredibly shitty, but they can't just use estimation to steal from you.

You know an official SRC communication is going to be good when it starts with "*Trigger Warning*"¹ and escalates into decrying the rule of law and claiming that security personnel will assault, sexually harass, and rape students.

¹ This is concerning because of the use of asterisks instead of, you know, actual formatting. Also because if they actually cared about victims of rape, they wouldn't use rape accusations as a source of cheap political capital. It's mildly sickening.

Nah, they just roped him in because he's the "cartoon adaptation guy" who actually made money on the thing he adapted.

To movie executives, the Transformers cartoon is for little kids, and Dora is for little kids. They don't see a discontinuity there.

Personally, I am just waiting to see if Micheal Bay can actually manage to create a movie that is NOT basically carried by boobs and explosions.
(OR, anxiously anticipating the kind of relationship Dora has with her monkey friend, and how she disposes of Swiper with a car bomb.)

I cannot imagine a dora movie.

Everything is so formula-driven.  3 destinations, 3 paths at each, various 'find the object' puzzles, saving baby bluejays from falling out their nest, and that cartoon arrow that follows her around.  That arrow is the real star of the cartoon.  It shows her everything except how to sing a 3-verse jitty.

also: remember the teenaged explorer they wanted to do a while back?

If its just an airborne version of the old black death then any proper antibiotics will stop it in its tracks very quickly. Thats what they use when they accidentally find an unexpected plague pit to prevent any fatalities.
