So you know how TVTropes has one of those "this is page number X that you've viewed today" kinda like NYT/Washington Post/other sites? It doesn't seem to do anything other than complain at you. There's no actual limit on the number of ad-free pages you can see (or at least, I'm currently on #22 in one day).

Step 1 is turning off the part of the house's electrical system connected to that light if you insist on fixing it yourself (usually done by flipping the relevant circuit breaker switch). It's probably a good idea regardless, since you're describing a naked wire hanging from the ceiling.

That aside, if you're lucky it screws back on and you just forcibly pulled that out. There's still the issue of the wire that you might have torn apart. I'd honestly recommend someone who knows something about this (call an electrician, find a friend with a lot of experience with stuff like this, etc.) due to the risk of electrocuting yourself/starting an electrical fire, especially if there are no obvious easy fixes. In this case, your primary concerns will be 1. avoiding death by sister by figuring out the right way to explain what happened and 2. paying for repairs (which shouldn't won't be too much).
