Fight some wild dogs. Try to rest, interrupted by wild dogs. Kill them, try to rest again: even more wild dogs. Surely I can rest now! Nope, humanoid dogs (gnolls) now. Feel dread as I click the rest button. Even more gnolls. That was the last wave unfortunately, because I was hoping to see how far the game took it.

Baldur's Gate Enchanced Edition, in case someone doesn't recognize it.

You must gather your party before adventuring forth.

(Also it doesnt really matter but gnoll are humamoid hyenas , not dogs)

A hyena is, in fact, a kind of dog.

Theyre carnivorans, like dogs and cats and mustelids, but theyre classified more closely to felines than to dogs. Theyre neither, really.

They are closer related to cats than to dogs. Which technically makes gnoll a kind of catgirls.

My favourite type of catgirl.

So apparently they're holding the World Championship of Quidditch in Espoo, Finland (scroll down for English). They're having some trouble with getting the brooms to fly, but aren't letting that slow them down. The game is expected to be very even as few muggles have played the game before.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

The game's region locked outside of Japan, and you can't even play it without jumping through hoops, I don't know what this crackpot is trying to accomplish.

Also, what the heck would a "Genshiken advisor" do? Maybe there's a 13-dan Fundoshi Master, Bukkake advisor, and Shokushu Trainer as well?

Eh, I had an awkwardly worded joke about this, but it's gone now.

She's not a 'Genshinken advisor', but an advisor to some student clubs focused on Japanese culture, including the Genshinken (club - it's in the name).
Reading comprehension, eh?

It seems like you're saying you can't do research on something unless it's easily accessible to the public at the location where the researcher is based.
Like, if you have an UK-based PhD in Slavonic studies, and she gives a talk on her studies of truth and fiction in writings of Vincentius de Cracovia - she is a crackpot, because your average Briton needs to jump through some hoops to get a copy of his works?

Dr Rachael Hutchinson, Who analyzes Japanese Culture through studying video games as texts

Seriously, what a shit-tier academic, if that's what her entire doctorate is in. Don't read too much into it, this is just paper pushing make-work research.

And it's seriously insulting to say the game is "teaching" the players to associate those things. The entire point of a game like that is the incongruity of the juxtaposition of the elements in that game. Which going by the blurb she seems unable to understand.

It does help to have the lecturer's audience have some context of what they're listening to.

Then again, after reading the first paragraph, it's obvious that context is not necessary, or even desired, here.
