Except then your body becomes tired as it fights against a "foreign presence", and... overreacts.  For actual allergies, the result is a bizarrely horrible slow tightening of the esophagus.  AKA you can't freakin breathe.  I really really never want to feel that again, but fortunately I've avoided stinging insects, and theoretically I'm safe.

But there are lesser "allergies", I guess.  Gluten and stuff.  Whatever happens when I eat clams or oysters.  I'm "just" sick for several hours, dry heaving.  It sucks, but it's a whole lot less terrifying than asphyxiation.

I can barely imagine how horrible it would be to have a nut allergy...  And they're even more severe, from what I've heard.

Though then you have a sloppy bike-ride home, or a friend.

I used to just prescribe a shot of SoCo or Jager immediately prior to heading to the store or whatever. Or two, for especially stressful journeys.
That worked alright... not sure why I got out of the habit. Probably 'cause booze is expensive and I'm a frivolous enough spender whilst sober - put a few drinks in me and suddenly all the forgotten things on my mental 'to-buy' list come flooding back to me. Drinking before any kind of shopping trip was probably not the best idea. >.>


My anxiety was pretty much gone for quite a while in recent times, though. A few months, even. That was nice.
Now that it's coming back I might see about one of those dirt-cheap bottles of rum my housemate told me the local bottle-o sells. Or perhaps something a tad bit more palatable...

Mm opposite, I'm actually even more stingy while inebriated.  Which is weird, right?  Inhibitions are supposed to drop?  It's complicated.
Good survival strategy in the digital age, I have to say.
Though I miss some of the surprise deliveries I would get sometimes.  They were consistently insightful and fun.  I regretted words on a forum far more than the stuff I bought.

Speaking of deliveries and to bring things back on a WTF note... Where TF are the parcels I'm waiting on!?
Man, I haven't had a proper drunk in a while. And that one was a lonely island of inebriation in a sea of near-total sobriety that has been lasting far too long.

I haven't really self-medicated outside of social situations in ages. I wouldn't worry about me! Although this Saturday my liver will probably get quite a shock as its little vacation of rest and peacefulness comes to an abrupt end.

Bloody hell how can one youtuber catch shit for getting baited into saying something racist by someone who is apparently a professional debater once, and be shunned by everyone, but another youtuber does worse things TWICE on separate occasions, on their own with no prodding, and people will jump to their defense.

Seriously Pewdiepie needs to retire. Yesterday.  He makes the internet look bad and people still fucking love him.
