Conservapedia is semi-serious. A ton of contributors at one point were trolls who were intentionally posting hilarious Alex Jones level misinformation. RationalWiki was a website made in reaction to this and was made not as a parody but as a kind of liberal oriented insult joke website, which has apparently since undergone maybe three moderation changes with a different site attitude and style coming with each.

Keep in mind that I'm not an authority on either and I only know about this from friends and the fact that I was pre-emptively banned from editing Conservapedia at one point.

I thought it was entirely satirical in nature. theres always a few loons that believe anything the internet tells them that remotely sounds like what they already believe, of course, and trolling them is great fun, but the site itself i always assumed was entirely satire.

RationalWiki still has some of the jokey tone last I checked, but way too much of it is clearly written seriously for it to be particularly funny. Their articles on atheism are some serious "enlightened by my own intelligence" crap.

Conservapedia's founder is a crazy pundit who hands out admin status to people who support him in arguments and wants to re-translate the Bible to remove "liberal bias". His mother died last year and was known for opposing feminism.
