Ive got to get back into reading the news.


Also, I dont do sport, so i cant talk sport.

Im kind of a ornery old man in a young body that looks even younger, so I cant be cheery.

how do be more sociable?  I dont exactly want too, but much like I recognize the value of going to catholic church even though I dont believe baby jesus is equal to or greater than god himself I recognize the value of being less of a dick to people and networking more.  I am sick of networking.

You might need to learn how to distract yourself in a polite manner, and how to subtly tell people to fuck off if they push your boundaries too much. Preferably without making them feel like you just told them to fuck off. There's value in blunt honesty, but it's not a commodity you should share freely with strangers lest you look like a total judgmental dickwad. Don't feel bad if you come up with excuses (not complete lies, preferably) to get out of a situation. I only tell people I'm not interested in what they're talking about when they're my close friends. Otherwise, I just hint to them that I have better things I should be doing.

Being a dick socially is generally about phrasing. Sounds like what you're describing is how to present yourself and your thoughts in a better way to people.

I use a Sades one, served me well, only issue is the cord being a bit long and that's more me being a silly then the headphones fault.

I've never seen The Quickening (though I really should, seeing as I love all things comically bad,) but I've always loved this quote from the guy who played the villain:

I figured if I was going to do this stupid movie, I might as well have fun and go as far over the top as I possibly could. All that eye-rolling and foaming at the mouth was me deciding that if I was going to be in a piece of shit like that movie, I was going to be the most memorable fucking thing in it. And I think I succeeded.

Holy ballturds, you're right, it's John McGinley. I neer realized that (and I can claim to be one of those people that paid money to see that steaming pile in the theater).

....I also paid money to see Highlander III in the theater. Sometimes it takes me more than one mistake to learn. >_>

I'm relatively sure Kale has been a socially acceptable name for a while now.  It's better than Brogan, anyhow.
