I don't see anything problematic in your post. Sounds like one of those clickbaity things which tend to be a bit sensationalist or only tell the thing in bits so that you have to keep clicking, just to get clicks ($$$ that is) from people.

And the second one makes absolutely no sense. Though I suppose transgender people going from female to male might be able to explain it more adequately.

On the bright side one of my favorite skits came from those questions

"Why are men so obsessed with Lesbians?"

*Person holds up a chocolate bar* "Wow, I sure like chocolate. What could be better than this? I know!" *Whips out second chocolate bar* "Two of them!"

So SOME good came out of this.

(Still think I am going to get hated on :P)

A woman who doesn't understand why straight men like lesbians obviously have never met a yaoi fangirl.

I just got really frustrated with Tumblr, again, for the best reason:  The difficulty of going through posts in advancing chronological order.

Turns out some Homestuck found a way.  I'm still miffed that there's no like... UI option to reach this (LOL minimalism), and I have a half dozen other peeves about Tumblr's mechanics, but meh.

Basically you browse a tag, then type "/chrono" in the URL bar (InTuItIvE dEsIgN).
In my case:  http://mcmansionhell.com/tagged/mcmansion/chrono

It still loads forever, but modern design knows everyone has unlimited RAM and no need for functioning scrollbars.  Bah.

Oversaturation of social politics and shitty porn aside, I've always despised tumblr because of the godawful design. When your information architecture is so bad that homemade amateur geocites websites could do better and MSM news sites load faster, something's wrong.

I shouldn't be surprised at this, but remember that hacking of Qatari government websites and social media that led up to the current crisis in the MidEast? The UAE got caught red handed and it turns out that they led the hacking rather than Russia or some random person looking to get a rise out of things.

It's probably going to blow the situation wide open.

I know this isn't the MidEast thread, but it made me go O.o , thus I'm posting it here.

My internet still keeps dropping out every few minutes. Turns out it's not just me, according to that map the whole New York area is having significant trouble.

Server outage? Kind of looks like a regional hub or something went down.

Watched "War Of The Planet Of The Apes." Now excuse me while I complain about it...

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

Long story short, I had a lot of fun making fun of this movie.

This is a bit strange, but I'm finding that some of my favorite moments in fiction describe the spread of some fictitious disease.

Take The Stand, for instance. There's a neat little chapter that jumps from one character to another, describing what they were doing on what they assumed was a perfectly normal day, and not only explains exactly when they got infected with the superflu but also shows how many other people they pass the disease onto. Few if any of these characters ever appear after this chapter but the easy assumption is that every single one of them died within the next week or so. It might be my favorite chapter in the book because the reader knows (even if the characters themselves do not) what's about to happen despite the government's best attempts at containment. It's very grim.

There's a chapter or two in Pandemic that does the same thing, but in this case it's even worse/better because some of these infected characters go to international airports and quickly spread the disease around the world.

I want more stories about world-ending epidemics. I don't know why.

Plenty of movies about that. Give a single word that relates to a world-threatening disease, and chances are there's a movie with that word as a title. Outbreak, Quarantine, Infection, etc.

If you haven't read any World War Z (An Oral History of the Zombie War), I can't recommend it enough.  The movie was "okay" but had nothing to do with the book, which is a collection of short stories from survivors of the zombie plague.  Some of the best involve the original infection.

Heh, my dad even remembered one of them to me recently, the otaku's story.  Perhaps the best informed, yet least aware...
