They were definitely worn in the past, not sure about now. I do like the world variations in cloths style. Everyone wearing the same boring t-shirt and pants gets kind of repetitive.

Typically they aren't pure white. It seems to be a combo of two colors.

Uh. Okay then? I mean I can't really speak for over in actual Asia since I haven't ever had the chance to leave the country yet, but my family does have a set of vests we take out for Tet. Though admittedly that's more of a for the kids to dress up with thing really since we're not that formal. But anyways it doesn't really surprise me at all that traditional clothing styles still see regular use. No good reason not to if they're usable.

I felt that at first but that's not something I thought It's morelike the entirety of how huge the Earth is and one's exposure/experiences melding into how thoughts get translated into words to convey meaning of
So I'm guessing it's just his communication style rather than anything else. But I am real curious as to how much Neo knows about our cultures here :3 It is a nice thing to feel, to be familiar with culture and the vastness of how dynamic things are \o/ (Also y'know, impressions and the like from our early years. They can affect people to many varying degrees)

...And maybe that shirt is real new to him. ;3 But it never struck me as that kind of awkwardness

Well Furtuka it makes a LOT more sense when you sort of understand that cultures tend to have a lot of stereotypes heaped onto them that aren't necessarily true.

So I am very wary of these stereotypes because a LOT more often then not they end up being untrue.

Furtaka to explain my surprise. My experience with Chinese, and Asian Culture in general, is fairly limited and usually confined to stereotypes. I can never take these stereotypes at face value so I categorize them as likely fake until proven otherwise. So learning that some article of clothing, aspect of their culture, or even piece of music was genuine is a source of glee.

I like to learn about other cultures quite a bit, but I don't do full on research typically because of the odd way it is presented.

The Anime thread is usually me trying to get a grasp on the general thoughts, opinions, and ethos of Japan which is a lot harder to grasp but to me is a lot more interesting and vital than learning exactly what holidays are in Golden Week.

I can understand that when you put it that way I suppose. My main source of alarm was how over the top dramatic you tend to get when talking about such things. I don't think you mean it at this point, but it winds up making you sound sometimes uncomfortably judgemental and... I'm not sure what the word to use here is. Touristy?
