Like strobe lights, yeah.  I have a string of Christmas lights up in my living room for mood lighting.  People started getting uncomfortable when they were on.  Eventually we turned off all other lights and there was that "low frame rate in real life" effect you get from strobe lights, where everything jumps a little instead of being smooth movement.  Turns out the lights were rapidly flickering and even with other lights on we could tell.

So, I have been on a bit of Donald Duck binge lately. It is an excellent method to rest the mind in between reading something more advanced. I noticed something odd, however. For reasons unknown, director Quentin Tarantino has starred in two separate comics, by different artists. Albeit under the traditional Duckian tissue-thin pretend name, of course, but it is very obvious that it is him.

It is very strange. I do not have reason to complain, but it is a very amusing oddity. It is also an interesting indication of the degree of autonomy that the Donald Duck comic sphere has from Disney headquarters. It is certainly its own little world.

Fluorescent lighting, probably. I forget why, but it does flicker, and you're probably just a bit more sensitive to it than most.

The worst was when it was flickering too fast to see (if that makes any sense).

In Deus Ex, there's a building called the 'ton hotel.

Inside it is a broken elevator shaft.

The lighting in there flickers on and off so rapidly it actually makes seeing what's inside more difficult.

Since it is possible nowadays to have a pig grow human organs inside it, using stemcell transplantation, I guess we're only a few crazy investors away from serving human bacon that did not involve humans dying.

In Japan they're growing livers or kidneys inside pigs. Forgot which, could be both. The liver / kidneys are completely human. The pig is mostly pig for the rest, although the treatment (at embryonic or early fetal stage I mus assume) does get some human cells scattered throughout the pig's entire body.
