I have re-written the same person's turn for my forum game no less than five times. I can't quite seem to get it somewhere I like.

You know, I've always kind of wondered: do we have any police people in the forums? I know we have medical doctors, lawyers, sociologists, different shades of STEM, maybe a civil servant or two, but I've never heard of any policemen/women/thing.

I remember that RedKing worked for the US government, and would warn people against publicly posting their illegal activities. Does that count?

I am a big fan of the Tactics battle/ogre games of yore ...

I dont really know of any recent games made in the style of either.  Are the genres dead?

I've been enjoying the slightly remastered PC version of Disgaea 2, but even a well-done port probably doesn't count...
Well huh, apparently Disgaea 5 was released in 2015.  So that series is fairly alive, at least.
Significantly different from Ogre Battle and FF Tactics, though.  FFT A2 did pretty well back in 2007, shame they didn't follow up on it.  And even those were significantly more accessible and cartoony than FFT proper (which I liked, particularly mobile, but still).

There`s a recommend me a game thread you could ask in as well, but I quite like the genre as well, some games I've enjoyed a lot lately in the same-ish vein are Battle Brothers, Battle for wesnoth, (older games Shining Force 1 and 2 and final fantasy tactics advance).  Otherwise yeah, the genre seems pretty dead and it makes me sad.  There's also like, fireemblem games for the handheld consoles.  Heck let me know pisskop if you find anything recent that is the same as tactics battle/ogre
