Then why would she use the clearly latinized name "Maleficent", (clearly a play on 'maleficence', the state of wishing harm on another), unless she is borrowing the name out of pure irony?

Character wise, she has much more in common with Morgana/Modran, but I blame Disney for just being superficially unoriginal thieves, and making the wicked fairy queen do their bidding.

It is pure coincidence that it sounds latin. It actually means really really good person (or something like that)

The name actually isn't in the original fable, if we are being honest.

If I recall the story as we know is an alteration of a very old tale that does not even contain any fairies. I don't think the name Maleficent is even in the altered version that Disney draws from.

Disney made that sh** up.

I have my own wtf/funny thing.

Random words from the gestures keyboard time.

You know, when you drag your finger around on the onscreen keypad instead of tapping?

Press on any area of the keyboard and just make circles. Let go and reveal what your device thinks your word is.

Here's some random output:

Formed
Bringing
Shaved
Ibibio
Victory
Smithy
Thicker
Furnished

Seriously, how can anyone use such an ime?

@Footjob, you can microwave most grains I've tried pretty easily through the microwave, even if they aren't packaged for it.

>_<

I am confused... Apparently "Black Lives Matter" actually managed to ban police from the Pride Parade in Toronto.

But... they are completely unrelated... how the heck did they manage that?

Though apparently BLM is considered to be a terrible group... though I know nothing about then.

Edit: Apparently it is all this weirdness... I should read up because from the sound of it they are a splintered non-uniform group that attack themselves or something... The Toronto sect of them are certainly disliked.

While I agree with the ideas behind the BLM movement, the movement itself is terribly organised, and at times just plain stupid. It dosent help that they contain some of the more radical elements too.

PR fro the BLM movement has gotten so bad that it really isn't an effective means to accomplish it's goals anymore. A lot of people are clinging to the sinking ship, but at this point the longer it goes on, the longer it will be before the attention can shift to other more capable groups/movements.

60% efficiency, a water wheel provides 100 power. Assuming 7/7 water is 12 cubic meters of water and... oh, boy, i should probably have divided that by 56 instead of 7 given my assumptions regarding the surface area of the water wheel, hmm.
Ah... that's right, the original question was "what is 1 unit of DF power in terms of real-world units".

Are you down with the clown?
Man, I thought that blog was about laughing at them, then there was a post from the... blogger? Writer? halfway down the page that leads me to believe they're actually a juggalo themselves, trying to help their brothers and sisters find love through the interwebs. Weird.

Still pretty amusing, though. Some entries more than others, of course.

Edit: Wait, no, that is definitely not the case. I think.

Goodness @_@ Today's work (I'm at my lunch break so just 4 hours in) and I get myself STATIC SHOCKED more than 10 times when handling the filing cabinet.

Nobody else believes how many times I got it--or rather, they do, but they're all surprised. :P

Gaaaah. x_x Prickly feelings to my hands.

Maybe it's static buildup?

I remember just last Christmas my family and I went to a New Mexico ski resort, and the coat I was wearing rubbed against my body so much when I touched the metal car door getting out of the car it actually hurt a bit.

You must be developing electrical superpowers.

I read that as ethical at first.
