I brought this on myself because of the memes but I've just been made to sit through the first episode of Kemono Friends. ... It looks like I may have to eventually sit through the rest of the series.

I did this. And I question why.

It was surprisingly painless. Somewhat amusing in places, though I think for reasons unintended. Would make for a vaguely absurd post-apocalypse setting. Somehow don't think the rest of the episodes will hold up to the potential of majin catgirl and bag-chan the opposable thumbs' magical mystery murder tour, even if someone presumably intelligent was killed and eaten in the first episode.

As in, a tabletop game where you're a small, cold, and incredibly common star?

Not quite, I mean one based around the BBC comedy.

Isn't the premise of Red Dwarf something like "a space janitor wakes up on a space station after being frozen in space-sleep and finds out he is the only human left alive without any hope of reaching humanity within his lifetime and with only a hologram person and a cat for company"?

...It doesn't sound like the greatest basis for a campaign.

There are other characters who aren't human.
Off the top of my head, there are humanoid holograms and a cat.   

I reckon it could be fun, especially if you enjoy saying the word "smeg"!

After looking up some stuff I'm not sure if it's unintentional. It also lines up with the mobile game it's based on being long dead by the time the anime came out. It's weird and a little off putting especially with the anime being so happy go lucky.

Reminds me of God-Eater and how the anime was all SERIOUS! but the games it was based off of... almost intentionally subverts the situation as a joke (The games are... comedic and joyful... Heck they have bikini dance parties)

But I can feel you Naxza... The Anime tries to create a genuine story out of the game's... frankly VERY TRITE AND BAD STORY! Like the games weren't even funny bad.

It was a no win situation.

IIRC the races included humans, holograms, several types of robots (like the kind one of the main characters was, and one was some sort of wax museum type), and several kinds of animals that basically evolved into humans.  Cats, dogs, rats and mice, and lizards.

I dunno much else, I didn't buy it.  Used bookstore wanted 50 bucks for it.

Red Dwarf had more dimention hopping and hallucinations that allowed for interaction with other people. Like the dimension where things went in reverse or the dispair squid alternate reality.
