Why did I pull an all-nighter watching Harry Potter movies? I did not need this, sure it's Sunday and there isn't that much to do, but holy crap is this going to be one long day.

Goddamn time change, I lost an hour of sleep, and time-based events on my 3DS games are locked for a day because of changing the clock.

Actually, I lost several hours of sleep, because one of the dogs was scratching on my parents door all night. And when I finally got up to get out of bed, I have a sinus infection.

Why is it that early 3d arcade shooters had environment destruction and visible enemy location damage.

But the further ahead you go the less and less you see it until it just flat out stops.

I mean Time Crisis it was the BEST part of the game (Environment damage)... House of the Dead was the same deal (enemy damage)

Also it is 2017 why isn't there more visible damage? Golden Eye at least had blood splatters show up on enemies sometimes (Scientists especially)

RE: location damage: it's easier to model damage when the models themselves are simpler. When you are dealing with more realistic models, it's harder to have realistic-looking damage.

But, and this goes for both the location damage and the blood: sometimes blood is enough to get your game a mature rating. And a mature rating is sometimes enough to get certain retailers refuse to sell your game.
