Watched the first 20 minutes or so of Face/Off earlier.
First off, that was not at all what I was expecting- I thought it was some suspenseful, critically-acclaimed thriller or something. Boy was I wrong. On both counts. Secondly... what the fuck was that chase scene on the runway?? I'm not complaining, really, it fell into the category of "so bad, it's good" for sure, but I was certainly sitting there staring in disbelief for quite some time before I finally started laughing at the sheer stupidity of it.
Unfortunately, apart from that scene it was mostly just "so bad, it's... bad", from what I saw.
Maybe some day I'll have to go back and watch the rest of it just for completion's sake, but I should probably do so whilst much less sober.
In other movie-related WTFs, I've never seen the film adaptation of Hitchhiker's Guide To the Galaxy before.
No, that's not the WTF- the WTF is that, when I think of the book (which I read years ago and greatly enjoyed), pretty much all I can remember of the actual content is an image of the cover of the copy I had, and the smell, taste and crumbly sensation of eating dry Weet-Bix with butter and Vegemite.
Quite distinctly, that's what comes back to me, along with the table I sat at whilst reading the book and munching away on my breakfast.
Well, apart from Marvin, of course.
I'm sure there are other books where I'd have the same experience trying to remember them, but this was quite an extreme case. Weird.
