It's common knowledge over here that Speed (metamphetamine) was created for the Wehrmacht, at Hitler's orders. My grandma told me that during the bombardment of the city of Nijmegen, the apothecary they were hiding at supplied everyone with metamphetamine pills so they could stay awake, and be ready to flee. So by 1944 they had made their way into Dutch pharmacies. The Wehrmacht and SS used it to keep their troops alert.

Also on the topic of Nazis and drugs, apparently Hitler authorized a euthanasia program for disabled children in 1940, using an anti-seizure medicine.

IIRC weren't they using meth laced chocolate or something to keep tankers powered trough long confortations? Can't for the life of me recall where I heard/read this, but it seems like a thing :S

Oh yes. And not just the Nazis either. There was a period where militaries all over the world were juicing up their people as a matter of course. Modern air forces still distribute amphetamine drugs under some circumstances.

Though the Nazis, being Nazis, took it rather far and so are associated with it.

Youtube is doing an obnoxious enlarge red 'SUBSCRIBE' button over their recommendations.  And recommending their wholesale-lump categories as channels to me.  And only displaying videos Ive watched before from people I watch in these generalized lump categories.  Fuck them.

The chocolate, Scho-Ka-Kola, only has caffeine in it, and is still sold today. However, a can of it is equivalent to about 10 cups of coffee. One isn't supposed to eat the whole can at once, though.
