The BBC has investigated Facebook. Apparently, Facebook does not try very hard to remove child porno.
The BBC found 100 photos with child porno on Facebook, and used the report button on all of them.
Only 18 out of 100 photos were removed.
They also found that 5 conviceted pedophiles had a Facebook account (which is illegal), and reported that to Facebook. None of the profiles were removed.


What Facebook did do about it: They reported the BBC investigative journalists to the police (for sharing child pornography), and cancelled all interviews.

I mean, imagine if the BBC was a bit vindictive and decided to push this as hard as they fucking could, FB is big (like, yuuge) but even they couldn't just shrug off such shitty behaviour.

I'll throw a devil's advocate here and say maybe the BBC is running a hatchet piece, and the content is merely suggestive, or art or something.

I recall reading in some famous magazine somewhere about this really good photographer who got ripped to shreds because she took nude photographs of her 12 year old daughter.
They actually had an interview with the daughter who came across as quite responsible and consenting, and showed one or two of the less lewd photographs which actually are pretty beautifully done.

But then again a magazine holding that stance probably will get the most shiny side of the story...

Just realized, while having a debate about abortions, that today is the 3rd anniversary of losing my daughter to chemo abortion, and nearly my ex-wife due to the pregnancy complications that made the abortion necessary.

How I profoundly wish I could reach out to her, to both of them, but alas... That is impossible.

When Horror is probably FAAAR worse in terms of average quality and sheer amount of garbage... but is given a pass?

Because bad rom-coms are just boring, but bad horrors can be good.

The "So shitty it's good" genre is basically made up of horrors and The Room.

Romcoms have the, deserved or not, reputation of being cookie-cutter formulaic. They're reviled not because they're bad, but because they're basically built by committee. Because they're the movie version of McDonalds; You always know what you're gonna get, it's not gonna be that good, and you'll be less healthy having consumed it afterward.

At least bad horror movies (usually) are TRYING to be original and creative.

Though I have enjoyed some romantic comedies.
...Which, once I started thinking about it, was "romantic comedies with over the top action or dark humor, usually with spies".
