You've likely got tonsil stones (Tonsilloliths). They're normal: I've been getting a one or two every so often since when I was a kid. Not easily prevented. You can remove them with a swab or spoon if you're interested, but it's not necessary: They tend to be the result of inflammation, not the cause of it, and rarely cause harm. Bad breath is the worst concern. They are, incidentally, closely related to the kidney stone.

Nope, I occasionally have tonsil stones and these aren't those. These don't smell, are a different color, and feel fibrous rather than soft. My best idea is that bits of wrapper have been sticking to the cough drops I've been using, then getting caught in my throat.
