Well is there a secret to cooking it... so it doesn't taste like stale overcooked dark turkey meat?

Note: I hate Deli Turkey... like... it tastes horrid.

Holy cow! Turkey Beef (Ground Beef made out of Turkey) tastes soooooooooooooooooo [good]!

This is what I honestly expected instead!
I know my sense of taste is wonky as hell, but I find ground turkey pretty much a straight replacement for ground beef, but significantly "lighter".  So I usually prefer the turkey (or some form of chicken), except when I want something heavily greasy.

And recently I've been satisfying that "heavy" yearning with oily beans+rice.  It somehow works about the same.  Basically I have no excuse to be eating cow and pig, I clearly don't appreciate the full taste like most people.

Well is there a secret to cooking it... so it doesn't taste like stale overcooked dark turkey meat?

Deli sliced meats are usually very salty and somewhat sweetened.  If you don't like deli turkey (my favorite by far) and *do like others, then you probably don't like turkey at all ):

Though IDK, maybe your diet is just low in fatty foods?  Maybe use more vegetable oil or eat fried things, then lean meats might be more satisfying.

First off, ground turkey is leaner than beef. Not as much fat. It'll dry out easier than an equivalent amount of ground beef so you'll need to use more oil or sauce or what-have-you.

Secondly, it works best in recipes that involve plenty of seasoning and spice. If you're just trying to make a turkey burger taste exactly like a beef burger, you should probably just give up. It won't happen. But for things like chili or taco meat it becomes indistinguishable from beef.

I should note that turkey burgers can be tasty and juicy. It'll just have a different flavor than beef.

Some of my older brethren were declaring their intent to ignore Hollywood forever and ever.  I mean I already basically do that, which is why I have zero clue what the hissy fit is about

In this case it was used in a meat sauce (and not one with lots of spices)

To admit even if it was ground beef it would taste lousy (mmm... slightly tomatoey beef essentially boiled in tomato juice)... but not bad.

...I'm no expert but I don't think you're supposed to "boil" sauces? More of a light simmer.

That is the only way we cook them here.

Pasta with sauce used to be my favorite food... but one day I was like "Why does it taste soo bad all the time?"... and that is my current theory as to why.

Some sauces react better to being boiled, but yea, in general, you don't want to boil the sauce, since boiling tends to somewhat "break" the sauce into its main components, ruining it.

Yah, even as someone that doesn't eat much pasta (I loath the taste of onions, which are in every goddamn tomato sauce in existence, but haven't reached the point of caring enough to make my own stuff), not boiling the sauce is a pretty good rule of thumb for cooking the stuff.

There's probably youtube videos or whatev' out there showing the better way to cook the sauce. Might consider hunting some down and showing them to whoever's doing the cooking. Or take over the sauce prep duties or somethin'.

My assumption would be 'cause an error was made during the announcement of Best Picture winner, in that initially the wrong movie was announced.

The racist thing was last year. Much boycott was had.

It's cuz the actual winner was a movie about two black dudes and the fake!winner was La La Land, which is not two black dudes.

But again, I haven't actually seen anyone claim it. Hell, I've barely seen anyone talking about the fuck-up besides in the context of "And This Is A Thing That Happened." Steve Harveys fuck-up (the last time something equivalent happened that I can recall) blew up much more than I've seen this one, and this is the freaking Oscars, lots more people watch and care about that than about whatever-the-fuck the Harvey thing was.

Just realized that there has been exactly one battle within Moscow city territory, and it was a battle against Poles-Lithuanians who took over Kremlin and refused to go away.
