On the line of dental problems. Have a broken tooth. A molar, the crown is about 40% gone. Since it was not causing pain I figured I would hold off til january and get it extracted when they work on the rest of my problem teeth, so I have dental insurance (I used up all my annual amount with some dental work back in febuary)
It has just started hurting pretty bad. So I've just decided to sink the cost. It's a tooth my general dentist said I needed an endodontist to check out, so I know my GD probably can't do anything about it, but when I called an oral surgeon (which google tells me are the people who do extractions) they tell me I need a referral.
So woo, I'll get to go to my regular dentist, just to have them look in my mouth for 10 seconds, and tell me that, no that 55% of a tooth that is shaped more like a t rex fang than a molar now, indeed cannot be saved and that I need to go see a tooth extraction wizard. And then charge me $50 to tell me that.
And then see the tooth extraction wizard who if I understand this right, could have the tooth removed in like a minute and a half because supposedly with a chunk of crown missing a tooth extraction is significantly easier.
Really don't know why I can't just pay the wizard directly and say hey, here's my x-rays. Can ya get rid of that extra spike that's back where my molar was? WTF dentistry.
