The people that comment on BBC news seem to mostly consist of right wingers.
Which is amusing and confusing, because so many people comment complaining that the BBC is left wing.
'I hate heights! Which is why I always go bungee jumping!'
Reading media from the other side is great in some ways!
Sometimes I agree with parts, which gives me the smug satisfaction of being open-minded
Well, not-fully-partisan at least. Though sometimes I do learn that certain extremist groups are worse than I thought (after I do my own homework, because Fuck The Fourth Estate).
But mostly it reminds me how dishonest and hateful they are. I wouldn't turn my back on an angry dog, so why should I ignore this shit? They hate me, and their lies hint at their plans. It'd be stupid to ignore them. I just want to live in peace, but they won't ever allow that. My suffering is their obsession.
Obviously that's not all conservatives by a longshot
But, the talk radio half my family listens to... Good people who have shown a lot of love *despite* eating up all these lies for decades.
Like, calling my dad a hippy and me girly for our long hair. But at least we still get invited to reunions, right, because I'm not stupid enough to tell them... anything, really. I'd just be "shoving it down their throats", right? Best not to challenge or respect them, just let them die off?
Oh except their kids and grandkids are coming up just as brainwashed. And they have a *lot*, because of farming background.
... So yeah, I listen to talk radio, because it's out there and it's taken very seriously.
(Calling the BBC liberal is pretty silly though, they're kinda paragons of neutrality
European center appears American far left though)
