Well, there's not really a non-sexual use for condoms, and it can convey a certain declaration of "I believe I'm going to get laid in the immediate future" which some people probably get nervous about due to the boldness of it.

That's just silly. Most men buying condoms don't buy them because they 'believe they're going to get laid'. Most men buy them because they are married and want to be sensible, and have planned childbirth. Especially with the pill being under scrutiny atm for causing depression. Being nervous about the boldness sounds like something that 16 year olds might say, I can't fathom that thought persisting into adulthood. Then again, most adults didn't advance much if at all past the mental capacity of an adolescent nowadays.

EDIT: also, the umpteen survival shows you can watch daily on national geodiscovery et al will all keep telling you over and over that condoms can hold 2l of water and are an excellent addition to any survival kit. So I contest the idea of condoms not really having a non-sexual use. Kids nowadays learn that they are a survival tool long before they're taught about flowers and bees. Although "I'm heading into the woods can I get some extra strong condoms?" possibly isn't the best way of ordering them.

I would dispute the idea the condoms would be good as a makeshift waterskin, though. It'd probably be bad to ingest whatever lubricants that are on/in them.

Spotted a house lizard lately while (nearly forgetting to) watering the plants and flowers. Strange thing was, compared to all the fleshy-colored ones, this one was nearly black or had a dark brown skin pattern--it was the same size and acted the same as those lizards though, what with the curvy movement
Although when I tried leading this one outside, it'd always crawl up the walls and then vault down to the tiled floor. Saw it curl up into a roll before looking around, now in the open. When I turned around to get a long, hard paper for it to climb on so I can move it out, looking back had me seeing nothing (white tiles, no lizard for quite a ways around where it last was). Spending the next 5 or so minutes had no results.

Strange lizard ._. I tried taking pictures with my phone, but the curse of no focus and it being dark on a dark background (hooray wood) gives bad results.

Meanwhile in Straya, our self-serve checkouts have all the free bags you can carry already set up on the holder. We still have a roaming storeperson though, but I think that's more for troubleshooting than theft-prevention.
I wonder if the ziptie-on-shopping-bags is supposed to prevent you loading extra things into a full bag or something. In which case, sounds like an intriguing store setup.

Well the pill is supposed to have some pretty mean side-effects in some cases, so that makes me think prescription is smart.
