As if I'd like the prospect of my games having a "Do I still care?" timer on them that EA can just decide "Nope, not worthy. Shutting you down!" with absolutely no recourse... Because a game that isn't "relevant" means it has to value whatsoever.

When Chrono Trigger a game for the SNES is STILL one of the greatest RPGs ever made with absolutely no competition for its type of storytelling...

When Suikeoden 2 has the greatest geopolitical plotline for a RPG ever made and is one of the greatest RPGs ever made (and probably the best in the entire series)...

And both these games are from the 90s... over 25 years old... And heck I think they do much better world building then a lot of modern games do.

Yet you know... Being masterful is meaningless... Shut them down! The time police says they aren't new enough!

Downloading a game from an illegal site is not piracy when you legally bought the game. It's called 'retrieving your posessions'

Because the product you paid for was stolen from you by Origin when they stopped working with steam? So you're in your full right to pirate it back. I'm willing to bet that would even hold up in court.

That's not piracy. I'm not defending what EA are doing, but saying that downloading something that you didn't pay for, regardless if you've paid for it before, is piracy.

My analogy was poor though. It would be like going into the store and taking a shirt off the rack.
