The Mandela effect weirds me out because as a South African, the original 'Mandela died in prison' thing makes absolutely no sense. It's like saying Obama became president by assassinating all his rivals.

Yeah, I am pretty skeptic too, though...
I have first heard of Mandela Effect around April Fools this year and thought it was funny because people weirded out that the "Houston, we have a problem" quote from the movie apparently got changed to "Houston, we've got a problem" but now it apparently changed back and I am not fucking sure if it was actually like that or not. I mean, I'm not saying I remember it being different because I have no clear memory of that but I feel it was different at some point (mind that I first heard the quote in English after hearing of the thing) and I'm not sure if that's actually the case or just my brain weirding out. Proably the latter, but still...
