Milk in Japan tasted funny, almost off, to me when I was there. Don't know why. When I tried a second brand and it tasted the same, I just assumed it was some difference in production and drank it anyway.

Couldd have lactase in it to mitigate lactose intolerance (though i'm not sure if that's as prevalent in japan as it is in its neighbors). I know the lactase milk i've had (buyer didn't notice the label lol) tasted funny, though tbh i liked it.

I think milk from other countries always tastes funny. Back when I went to the UK I also found milk to have an unusual flavor.

There are honey wasps, though apparently their product doesn't taste that great.

For some reason I've been feeling little pings of wanting to play Tropico or Saints row or something. Pretty damn out of nowhere too.

Yeah one of the large reason why the honey we eat is almost exclusively from honey bees is... that frankly they are "Perfect" as far as honey production is concerned.

They have large hives, produce lots of honey, and store it in easily accessible honey combs.

There is a type of fly that produces honey that you can take right out of their "hives" (I am not sure what their nests are called).
