What's this whole debate on pineapple on pizza? Must be a USA thing. Ever since my first visit to a pizzeria that I can remember, about 30 years ago, pizza Hawaii (bolognese + pineapple + cooked ham) has been a standard Italian pizza recipe. Hell, even the original pizza stores in Italy have it for decades already.

Everyone knows gyros is the one true pizza topping.

No it's not. Gyros is a Greek dish. Pizza is Italian. That being said, pizza + gyros is über awesome. I remember this pizza shop in Utrecht, back in my university days. They had this special student offer for the pizza gyros. If you could eat a whole one, you'd get another one for free. The mountain of gyros on that pizza was so high though, that I never managed to finish it all. In fact, I don't think I know anyone who ever managed it.

Pretty sure I've done apple on pizza before. S'about it, though. Buy fruit rarely enough eating it often just doesn't cross the mind.
