Ah, my bad. Locking can be done by the thread creator, deleting does need input from the almighty toad. Closest you could come is maybe reporting the OP and listing "please delete" as the reason, but that's probably not an intended use of the report button.

Wow, didn't realize the article was that clickbaity, sorry for that. The disclaimer: "this doesn't actually exist" is literally in the last two sentences. The language used throughout the article was "any can do XYZ" rather than "anyone could do XYZ". Sneaky.
