My stepdad has completely lost his mind. According to my mother, he's been raving about nonsensical things all night, and this morning he started threatening me, saying he had to hide his coffee pot(I drink instant, so I never use it) from me because of something about having no self control, and then get got into his truck and drove off, presumably with the coffee pot.

That, uh... honestly that sounds pretty much like business as usual for that guy.

Further along the road of my stepdad's insanity, he's now blaming whatever issue happened this morning on some form of body odor that he claims I possess and is demanding that I see a doctor about it.

I really don't see how that has to do with issues of self-control and his coffee pot, but I'm finding really hard to exercise the self-control needed to keep myself from smashing the coffee pot across his face and using the pieces of glass from it to slit his throat.

Yeah I get that. But associating your man stink with hiding a coffee pot sounds like a paranoid psychosis on his behalf. Which you can report to a psychiatrist. Just say you are concerned that he might become a threat to himself or those around him if kept unchecked.

At the very least he might be in need of some professional grief councelling.

... do they actually have dedicated hygienists these days? I've heard of a lot of different specialists that folks get sent to, but that's one I've never seen in-person mention of. Would think the market for 'em wouldn't be that large, all things considered.

If the human population is large, the market for people who can't or don't wash themselves properly for whatever reason is likewise large. At some point, they will be recommended to or forced to visit a hygienist.
