Honestly I just want to create a thread where we collect every piece of CSI, Law and Order, police procedural, and made for TV movie about gaming culture.

I already had to watch a documentary about how gaming culture is bad and developers are poor little victims of their harassment.

Actually here is a story for you: I was watching a documentary about students socially harassing teachers with my mother and it basically paints students as mean malicious people and the teachers as meek sensitive victims (which for what it was doing was fine. Not everyone has the will to stand up to harassment).

According to my mother, her school (as in teacher faculty) laughed at this documentary. (they watched it because their school was in it) Mostly because none of the teachers in it would have been able to last one month in their school and how overblown the documentary was making it seem, as if it was some plague or tornado.

Aye, either you've got skilled students or inept teachers when the teachers are broken by the students, they're doing it the wrong way around

IDK, I read about a feminist blogger locally, who ID'd everyone she could who was harassing her and it was 100% made up of ~16 year olds. The internet just gives obnoxious little kids a really loud bullhorn. I really doubt that has any specific link to gaming culture. I'm quite certain people who death threat a journalist for just reporting stuff are of similar age, and I doubt that those people actually funded the kickstarter. People who are that damn impatient definitely sound like school kids.

Gamer culture is a difficult thing to talk about when there's so many disparate subcultures. The biggest, most vocal one is probably the youtuber follower fandom which, surprise surprise, is made up mostly of children.

A lot of it has to do with the global access to the internet.

Lets say there is a female reporter for a newspaper and some people want to harass her... Lets say .05% of this town wants to harass someone and sees her as an acceptable target. This town has 100,000 people in it so It has a base of 50 people who has the willingness to harass her. Yet they can't really get together and co-operate so it is unlikely these 50 people will act.

But lets say she is on the internet and the internet has about... 2 billion English speakers or about 400 million English speakers. So that means there are 50,000 people ready to harass her. And because it is easy to find out who dislikes this woman it means that most of that 50,000 can meet up. They become emboldened for it.

It's amazing how many people are actually defending these scumbags in this comment section. Are people literally this dumb to defend two guys that were actually breaking the law, conflict of interest, luring their viewers into a rigged gambling website, luring impressionable kids to their website by making them think the odds are amazing and robbing their "hard earned" pixels, lying about ownership of the website to all their fans, lying about it to other big youtubers in straight DM's.. etc.. the list goes on.. I really hope these cunts end up behind bars, with a massive fucking fine and a complete IRS run down (like it should when a casino owner plays in his own casino). I hope GabeN does something radical about this entire skin market either way. Lock them all up into the Steam ecosystem. People that actually defend these guys are beyond reasoning.

Vampire Rain is probably the only piece of fiction I can think of where the "Alpha Creature" is actually the weaker one.

So there are the Prime Vampires who basically rule over the normal Vampires. If they die the vampires they create die.

So you would think they are the more powerful vampires. NOPE! they are actually weaker and slower. The only advantage they have over their brethren is that they are more durable... well that and all vampires are subservient to the one who made them.

This is the only example of this I can think of. I mean MAYBE one where each generation is more powerful... but nothing of this type.
