I.. Kind of expected the story to be fairly shit. I much prefer to focus on the gameplay on this one as it is quite the fun zombie-parkour adventure.

I mean I COULD comment on the gameplay. Yet it isn't really WTF worthy.

I can only say that 25% of the way through I wanted a Dying Light 2... 50% through it, I couldn't care less.

Make that as you will. It has good gameplay but it certainly overstays its welcome and is mired by bad design decisions (The offensive tree for example is +85% useless, not that the other trees are particularly well designed). I'll forgo any further details.

How am I capable of just playing Super Metroid over and over again without ever getting bored?

I beat it again today. Used Project Base, so my time was way faster than normal primarily due to the combination of the extremely buffed speed booster (it takes about half the distance to charge) and extra shortcuts (my favorite being a shaft to the right of the Varia Suit that goes up to a new room in Meridia that replaces and extends right from what is formerly the map room and also goes down to the room just to the left of the room that gives access to the speed booster). I got 00:51 with 50% item completion.

Maybe it's all the damn stats, heh.

Because... Super Metroid is one of the best games ever made?

So much so that it became the template for many games well over a decade it was made... AND is still considered one of the prime examples of a exploration/sandbox game done right in an industry overflowing with vast open world games that are mildly entertaining and as deep as a kiddy pool.

And is overall designed very well and within the limitations of the system, engine, and designs. With its story while present, taking a back seat as it doesn't try to overstay its welcome.

Sure it is a simple game. Yet that isn't a fault.

Just now I was struck with a sudden, strange urge to check the Happy thread, despite not having visited it for... a long time.
So I click on it, not expecting to see anything particularly inspiring, and lo and behold people are discussing alcohol in there.

Have I developed tingly booze-sense after being bitten by a radioactive shot or something? I could get behind that idea.
