Well, actually no, you don't need that. You just need to, uh. Well, it's hard to describe, but it basically involves getting woken up sometime way earlier than you usually wake up, while not really wanting to wake up at all, and then keeping that state with you.

EDIT: Oh hey, I guessed right about what that word means! I didn't, like, knew that it was an actual, you know, named thing and all, but apparently, it is!

P.S: You may also want to just try to, you know. Feel sleepy when you're awake. It's not the same thing, far from it, but if your mind is in a right position, it can definitely help with imagination stuff.

There's certainly a lot of bullshit you can pull with your brain, and the biggest problem here is remembering it all at the right time.

Thats why hypnagogia is good for imagination, since you usualy remember all of it. Its essentialy light lucid dreaming, except you cant actualy interact with things since you wake up if you try to :v

Supposedly Isaac Newton, Eistein and a bunch of other people used it to get new ideas about things, tho it prob just gave them interesting shit to mull over and distract them from work most of the time. Its not something you should do instead of sleeping, but its ok if you do it before actualy sleeping.
