I discovered today that "Delete"-ing a file on my computer doesn't actually get rid of it, just puts it in the Trash.

Today I lowered the used space on my hard drive by 23%.

P.S. Apparently Google is patenting flypaper for people, to go on their self-driving cars or something.

You know, I'm not sure why google is still keeping the whole self driving car crap that hasn't really done much of anything (apart from almost running people over and ocasionaly crashing into things), while at the same time it put boston dynamics, which makes some really promissing robots, for sale.

On another WTF: Man, fatal frame games have some really creepy soundwork, but its only scary if you dont actualy look at the game, if you do it just gets kinda narmy. Japanese horror never managed to be visualy scary for me. Its always like "o mai gawd, some weirdly clothed mostly human aparition thing with a crazy stare and making funny throat noises, wat do" or "oh my god, ghost loli".
There's also the "oh my god, really clean dismemberment" and "oh my god, hollywood blood".
And its almost always a young woman of sorts :v

The only japanese horror movie that was actualy somewhat scary was this one movie made to look like a documentary about some sort of old village demon thing, and it only managed to be scary because it never actualy showed you anything.

Nippon has never found its Junji Ito equivalent for its movie industry.

Have you ever watched Shiki? I mean, I doubt it's horror, really, since I don't watch horror and I watched that. #colbertlogic

Ok, the Google self-driving car is coming along. But if you had to pick would you go with that or the:

- Microsoft self-driving
- Apple self-driving car
- Samsung self-driving car

With all the big tech companies catching the self-driving car craze, I don't think it will too long before someone sets up a self-driving car race or rally.

EDIT: Actually the first company to be seriously interested in showing off their car in a race would be a good sign. They'd only be willing to do that if they can guarantee the thing won't cause some horrific crash.

OTOH the car thinks it's 2012 still but I don't know whether that's microsoft's fault.

Anywho, I'm pretty excited for self-driving cars, even though I drive manual and would like to be able to continue to do so. If it lets other people continue to use their phones without mucking up my commute, I'm all over that. Not sure I'd trust a car without a manual override, though.
