I am a comcast wireless gateway support specialist.  I can say with 100% confidence that your modem needs an exorcism.  I can have a techcorsist out to your house by Monday of next month.  That will be $80.

Joking aside your cell phone may be using it's cell data connection to post.  Just because the wifi has no internet doesn't mean your cell provider isn't super happy to automatically have you start paying them for the connection without making it immediately obvious to many.

As for the internet connection, may be a number of things.  If you have a router and a modem, and not one of the two in one boxes that are both in one, it may be a good idea to restart the router.  Not sure the specifics of why, but it seems like something causing the modem to lose connection borks most routers until they are restarted.

Not my fault, we're more or less the tier 2 guys.   
The tier 1 guys are the ones that screw everything up, I probably spend 2 hours out of every 8 hour work day fixing the things they changed trying to fix the problem without actually knowing what said thing does.   We actually fix the problem.  (when our tools are working, and when the tier 1 agent doesn't send us people with phone or tv issues that we can't touch, just because the customer demanded to speak to an American.)
